The housing at the base is good, according to the troops, and, moreover, it accommodates large battalions and mobilization teams; but the training sessions are the best. These having been said, at Camp Perry, bearing in mind that it is a training facility, they teach recruits how to act and react in different situations; they also have the largest rifle firing range in the U.S.A. The camp was named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, a man who has bravely won the battle of Put-in-Bay, in 1812. He was a naval commander.
